Joy House is a 2-year transitional housing program that offers help and healing to low-income abused women and children who are leaving domestic violence situations and seeking to rebuild their lives.

OUR GOAL is to provide a safe haven where these women can enjoy a stable, nurturing home for their children and move from dependence on welfare to self-sufficiency.

WE OFFER

  • AN ADULT PROGRAM where each woman works one-on-one with an accountability leader and pursues a progressive goal-directed program to help her heal from her painful past and achieve an independent lifestyle. They are required to work, attend vocational training and/or go to school. The women are also involved in a program several evenings a week that includes individual and group counseling, a house meeting and classes on topics like self-esteem, parenting and abuse issues.

  • A PRE-SCHOOL PROGRAM including before & after school activities for the children (with a nearby church), play therapy services and age-appropriate activities several nights a week while their mothers are in class or counseling.

TO BECOME A RESIDENT, please call 303-860-8404 ext. 31 for information on orientations. Those attending an orientation will be required to fill out an application and participate in an interview process.
